Mental Health in pre-teens and teenagers

Mental Health is an essential part of your child's development. It will help them build strong relationships, adapt to change, and deal with the many challenges they face in life, such as sadness or stress when it occurs naturally, instead of force-feeding negative feelings through language that can cause more harm than good

Mental health means having control over emotions rather than letting things happen due only because we don't always know how else to cope properly.

Pre-teens and teenagers who have good mental health often:

  • feel happier and more positive about themselves and enjoy life
  • bounce back from upsets and disappointments
  • have healthier relationships with family and friends
  • do physical activity and eat a healthy diet
  • get involved in activities
  • have a sense of achievement
  • can relax and get a good night's sleep
  • feel like they belong to their communities.

The field of mental health is a target not completely accomplished yet. Much work needs to be done for prevention and early intervention policies/programs are effective at minimizing potential damage from severe conditions like depression or anxiety among youth populations who may not have an adult nearby they can count on when needed most

In some cases, this means that children will utilize primary care providers as substitutes due to their lack thereof, but these individuals often don't possess all the necessary resources, so it's difficult to REALLY get what you need.
